About Us

Micro Design Technology (MDT) was established in 1992 as a privately owned enterprise. The Company was incorporated in 1994 and currently has a team of fourteen full-time, highly trained, and professional employees.

MDT is a systems integrator, solutions provider, and value-added reseller, with a strong focus in the design and implementation of turnkey networks and consultancy. Our goal is mainly to provide Information Technology (IT) services to governmental and corporate entities. The Company has extensive experience with workflow analysis and has helped clients to create efficiency models for their technological needs.

MDT offers its customers access to the top manufacturers of system hardware, software, networking and connectivity products, mass storage devices, printers, supplies and accessories. We are an authorized reseller of AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION, ALVARION, CISCO, HEWLETT-PACKARD (HP), MICROSOFT, and NORTEL products. MDT is also the authorized AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION Service Center for Guyana.

MDT is a DELL Registered Partner, offering DELL's entire line of servers, workstations and storage solutions.  MDT is one of the largest resellers of DELL products in Guyana.  Our long relationship with DELL has enabled us to focus on a one-vendor solution for servers and workstations with unsurpassed support. We have completed several large projects using the Dell platform. The most recent has been the supply of equipment to the Basic Education Access Management Programme (BEAMS). The contract involved the supply of over 100 systems, printers and UPS to sixteen different locations in various regions throughout the country. It also included the cabling and installation of supporting equipment to facilitate a LAN at each school. Another project, also funded by BEAMS is currently being implemented that involves over forty workstations, servers and printers being installed at each of the Ministry of Education's regional offices.

MDT supplied all of the CISCO networking equipment in use at the new Caricom headquarters as well as all of the new large HP printers. We are regular suppliers of IT equipment to GUYSUCO since 1996. This has included Dell notebooks, COMPAQ/HP, APC UPS, Nortel and wireless equipment from CISCO and Alvarion (BreezeCom). Some of MDT's other larger projects include the implementation of Local Area Networks (LAN) at some of the top businesses in Guyana and in several organizations including the CARICOM Secretariat, Aroaima Mining, Cheddi Jagan Airport, the Guyana Elections Commission, the New Building Society, COURTS (Main Office, Georgetown), Farfan and Mendes, the Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED) and most government ministries. Among the many services MDT can offer is the installation and implementation of solutions from small LANs to WANs using 100/1000Mbps structured cabling switched networks, incorporating multi-processor based Windows 2003 Servers.

MDT offers repair and maintenance services with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained technicians. The Company stocks a wide array of spare parts, computer components, maintenance products and consumables. This includes CPU and UPS batteries, cables, mainboards, printheads, fuser units, ink and toner cartridges, compressed air, cleaners, memory, drives and network equipment. Monthly maintenance agreements can be provided upon request.

In 2010, MDT became an Apple Authorized Reseller integrating the new iPad as the next generation mobile office tool along with the range of classy iPods for any audio, video and/or WiFi needs. We also offer a wide range of iMac for your computing needs.

Inter.net.works Incorporated is an Internet Service Provider and a sister company of MDT. Inter.net works was established in June, 1998 to meet the growing demand for internet services in Guyana. Apart from providing internet accounts to home users and corporate customers, inter.net.works has implemented solutions for companies wishing to connect their LAN to the internet and establish WAN using GT&T's frame relay and DSL network. These solutions have included firewall architecture and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) primarily using CISCO branded equipment.

Some of our recent clients for Remote Network Management includes Marian Academy and Georgetown International Academy where our superior network management products allow us to manage traffic content accross the internet, scheduled access, eliminate virus intrusions and Antivirus updates across the network.
